|#1 - President's house|
The President's House of the University of Michigan is the oldest building on the University campus. It is one of the original four houses constructed to house faculty when the University moved from Detroit to Ann Arbor in 1837.Tappen (The first University President) occupied the house with his family, only modifying the house to add gas lighting. When Tappen was Dismissed in 1863, President Haven and his wife moved in. They added a kitchen, but it wasn't until President Angell that the house was fully renovated.

|#2 - University Library|
Construction of the library began in 1881 and was completed on November 22nd, 1883 and was funded by the Michigan legislature at a cost of $100,000. In 1898, the new stacks were completed for the sum of $13,450 and the new capacity was 200,000 volumes. In 1915, the building was declared unsafe for renovations because of its wooden structure. Except for the fireproof stacks (current north stacks), the building was demolished in 1918 for the construction of the New General Library.

|#3 - Michigan Union|
The Michigan union was built as a recreational place for men at the University. Women were only allowed in to use the university pool, and even then they had to be accompanied by a man. It wasn't until 1956 that women were officially allowed into the union. At one time, the union contained a gymnasium and housed military and navy men.

|#4 - Cottage Inn Pizza|
Cottage Inn opened in Ann Arbor in 1948, as the first pizzeria in Ann Arbor. The pizzeria was very successful, and the restaurant was renovated and expanded in 1975. In 1978, a second, carry-out and delivery only, location was opened to accommodate the continued growth. In 1986, the first franchise opened on Grove Road in Ypsilanti.

|#5 - Detroit Observatory|
The Detroit Observatory was constructed in 1854 to house the first large telescope constructed in the U.S. This telescope, the 3rd largest of its kind, has a 12' 6" diameter. A special telegraph line connected the Detroit observatory to Michigan Central Railroad to provide an accurate clock for observers. The observatory is open to the public for special events.

|#6 - Michigan Central Depot|
Built in 1886, this elegant structure was considered to be the finest station on the Michigan Central line. The first depot, built when the Michigan Central Railroad came to Ann Arbor in 1839, was located further west on the other side of Broadway. In 1969, the property was purchased and transformed into a restaurant.

|#7 - Ann Arbor Armory|
A law was passed in 1910, permitting communities to house military units, and ths building was constructed in 1911. This building was the third armory built in Michigan, and still stands today. At its peak, there were 1,000 members. It was built by the Koch Brothers for a total of $25,000. The interior includes a drill room, reading room, billiard room, orderly rooms, and an indoor shooting range among others. It is now the home base for the Company D 156 Signal Battalion
